1. The #testdrivedundee program is open to anyone aged 17 or over by 25th April 2015, at school or college in the UK, who is seriously considering making an application to a University in the UK for the 2016/17 academic year.
  2. Candidates can only enter via registration at the #testdrivedundee website www.dundee.ac.uk/testdrive.
  3. By participating in the program, candidates are agreeing to abide by these terms & conditions.
  4. Candidates can only register with #testdrivedundee once and no multiple entries will be accepted.
  5. The University will select the 5 final candidates, known as Test Drivers.
  6. Should you be one of the final 5 Test Drivers selected you agree to take part in any publicity for the program as requested by the University. No fee is paid by the University for your participation and any Test Drivers under the age of 18 will be required to provide parental consent to take part.
  7. It is an essential criteria that the successful Test Drivers have a well-established social media presence. It is a condition of your registering that you are giving permission for the University of Dundee to access your social network profiles and the personal data contained within. This will be used only to establish that the candidate has a social media presence and profile and for the University to gauge the extent of the candidate’s social network. Any information and personal data as a result of such access will not be shared by the University or passed on to any third parties (other than for the purposes of managing the #testdrivedundee program with the contracted marketing agency). Any data or information imparted to the University will be held securely until two years after the end of the #testdrivedundee activity and will be deleted thereafter.
  8. Stage 1 of the activity is the act of registering for consideration in the program.
  9. All candidates that register interest in the program will have equal consideration in relation to being recommended for stage 2 of the activity.
  10. The closing date for registering to participate is 16th March 2015. No applications received after this date will be considered for future participation in the program.
  11. The University will use reasonable endeavours to contact the candidate using the information provided by the candidates. If the candidate does not respond before the commencement of stage 2 on 26th March 2015, then the candidate’s registration will not be considered further and will not progress to Stage 2.
  12. To go through to Stage 2, each candidate will be judged upon a series of factors: the extent of their social network, their social media profile and the quality of their own blogs, website or online work.
  13. Once all of the candidates from Stage 1 have been evaluated, a group of 30 of them will be selected by the University to enter Stage 2.
  14. The 30 candidates in Stage 2 will then be asked to produce a short written piece, in the form of a proposal, to indicate what they would wish to see, do and report on should they be successful in getting through to Stage 3 and be invited to #testdrivedundee. They will be judged upon this proposal, as well as the result of asking members of their social network, school, friends and family etc. to vote for them via the relevant #testdrivedundee website: www.dundee.ac.uk/testdrive.
  15. Stage 3 will be when the final 5 ‘test drivers’ are selected and invited to visit the University of Dundee for 2 days (Monday 27th April and Tuesday 28th April 2015). The University reserves the right to change these dates.
  16. The judging of Stage 3 will be the responsibility of the University of Dundee and Frame Agency acting on behalf of the University.
  17. The University’s decision in all matters relating to this campaign is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  18. As part of this award each of the 5 Test Drivers will be given an iPad Air 2 which will be used to record and post updates throughout their test drive report visit. At the end of the Test Drive visit they will be allowed to retain the iPad Air 2. There is no cash alternative to this prize being offered.
  19. Test Drivers will be allowed to post the content up to their own social media network, subject to the candidates adhering to normal legal requirements.
  20. Each Test Driver will be issued with a set of standards of practice concerning the content and tone of their updates that must be adhered to. Failure to do so could result in them being removed from the program. The social media activity will be monitored throughout the program.
  21. All of the reports & images uploaded by the Test Drivers, within the #TestDriveDundee activity, will then be considered as ongoing content for the #testdrivedundee program site and the property of the University of Dundee.
  22. All agreed & reasonable travel costs will be included within the #TestDriveDundee offer, as will accommodation at a hotel local to the University of Dundee and per diem spend for subsistence costs to an agreed value.
  23. Neither the University nor Frame accepts any liability for any loss, expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with the program and/or prizes, other than such liability that cannot be excluded by law including death or personal injury caused by negligence, where liability shall be limited to the minimum permissible by law.
  24. Each Test Driver will be allocated a current student or member of the Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) Executive to accompany them while they are in Dundee.
  25. The University reserves the right to disqualify, remove or replace any of the candidates without any liability to either party at any time during the activity, if there are reasonable grounds to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions by an entrant.
  26. Participating in the #testdrivedundee program or being selected as one of the Test Drivers will not result in acceptance onto any course at the University of Dundee. Any University applications must go through the usual application channels and process.
  27. Names and counties of residence of winners will be available upon request after the final selection in writing to the Promoter marked “#testdrivedundee Winners List”.
